A native of Ufa, Russia, Irirna Morozova started dancing at the age of seven, taking classes at the local ballroom studio. After three years, she took a short break before starting to study contemporary dance. By the age of 13, she was dancing with Sergei Andriyanov’s contemporary dance company, where she was an active member until she moved to Kentucky in 2003.After meeting Damian Pataluna in 2009, she accepted his challenge to try ballroom dancing. They danced their first competition in August 2009 at the Derby City Dance Sport Championships in Louisville, KY. From then on, Irina knew she wanted to continue ballroom dancing. They continue to win competitions and also hold two “Star Quality” awards from Carrie Ann Inaba in 2010 and Bruno Tonioli in 2013 for outstanding showmanship. Irina studied at the University of Louisville where she earned a BA in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy.
